Dr Katie Reid is originally from Scotland and trained in the UK. She completed her primary medical degree and additional bachelors degree in medical science at the University of Glasgow in 2012.
She decided that General Practice was the place for her and completed her GP specialty training in Glasgow in 2018. She came to Australia soon after and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She aims to empower patients, through good communication and partnership, to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing. She is experienced in women’s and sexual health, including Implanon insertion, cervical screening, STI screening and treatment and PrEP prescribing and IUD insertions/removals. She also has an interest in managing mental health and chronic illness but loves seeing everyone from babies to older adults to newly pregnant first-time Mums.
She values the human side of medicine, being thorough, and aims to make seeing a doctor as stress-free as possible. She loves going on micro-adventures and a dream day off is an open water swim promptly followed by pastries or cake.
Available: Monday AM/PM, Friday AM/PM & Saturday occasionally.
